The Champions of Sussex gear up for an exciting 2025/26 season.
And what better way to kick things off than with pre-season friendlies as we gear up for the campaign ahead.
Fixtures:
Sunday 20 July: Saltdean United (H) – Behind closed doors
Sunday 27 July: Worthing (H)
Sunday 03 August: Brighton & Hove U21s (H) – Behind closed doors
Sunday 10 August: Dulwich Hamlet (H)
All season ticket holders have free access to Lewes FC’s pre-season home games.
Fixtures played behind closed doors
Please note that some fixtures are being played behind closed doors. This is due to a combination of factors including post-summer pitch maintenance, scheduling logistics, and mutual agreements with the opposition. These matches still play an important role in our pre-season preparations, allowing both clubs to manage fitness, tactics, and player development in a more controlled environment.
🗓️ 20 July – Saltdean United (Behind Closed Doors)
We kick things off with a behind-closed-doors match against Saltdean United. This one will carry some emotional weight, with several former Lewes players now lining up for the opposition. Saltdean are led by Kayleigh Barton – a familiar face and fierce competitor who’s delivered standout performances against us in the past.
🗓️ 27 July – Worthing
Next up is Worthing — and this one is open to fans. Last season, we faced them in the League Cup determining round, scraping through with a dramatic 2–1 win after extra time. Worthing are led by Jesus Cordon who previously served as assistant at Lewes, adding an extra edge to the encounter. Expect a lively match and a great early test on home turf.
🗓️ 03 August – Brighton & Hove Albion U21s (Behind Closed Doors)
A repeat of last season’s Sussex Women’s Challenge Cup final sees us take on Brighton’s U21s, once again behind closed doors. That final was a proud moment, as we lifted the trophy — but it was anything but easy. Brighton’s young squad are full of flair and promise, and we’re expecting another tough outing that will demand focus and control.
🗓️ 10 August – Dulwich Hamlet
We wrap up pre-season with a Sunday showdown against a club we deeply respect. Dulwich Hamlet took us all the way in last season’s FA Cup, where we narrowly edged through on penalties. Off the pitch, they share many of our values — including a joint voice in the campaign for equal FA Cup prize money. A brilliant way to sign off the summer before the league begins.
