The Lewes FC Women’s 2-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth on Sunday brought the curtain down on home fixtures for the 2025/26 season.
One final challenge remains. The Rooks travel to Oxford United on Sunday 26 April, with a fourth-place finish firmly in their sights as they look to end the campaign on a high.
Following the final whistle at The Dripping Pan, attention turned from competition to celebration, as the club came together for its end-of-season awards.
The evening began with a heartfelt moment of appreciation. Volunteers, staff and supporters – the lifeblood of Lewes FC – were recognised one by one, a reminder that this club is built on far more than what happens on the pitch.

Then came the player awards.
In her first season at the helm, Emma Byrne selected Sydney Schreimaier as her Manager’s Player of the Season, highlighting the midfielder’s tireless work ethic and the often unseen contributions that have underpinned the team’s success.
Rebekah Trewhitt claimed Goal of the Season for her outstanding strike in the 3-2 victory away at league champions Watford – a goal that not only showcased brilliant team play but also handed Watford one of just two defeats all season.
It was a standout night for Leah Lane, who collected four awards. In her second season with the Rooks, Lane has truly come into her own, combining pace and precision to devastating effect. Alongside Chelsea Ferguson, the attacking duo have delivered an incredible 33 goals across all competitions this season.
Her performances earned widespread recognition. Lane was voted Players’ Player of the Season by her teammates and also edged ahead to secure both the Supporters’ Club Player of the Season and Owners’ Player of the Season awards.
With 18 goals in all competitions, including 11 in the league, she currently leads the race for the Golden Boot and was awarded the trophy – though with Ferguson just three goals behind, that battle will go down to the final day.
The evening concluded with the Lewes Legend award, presented to captain Maddie Brant. Voted for by her peers, Brant was recognised for consistently going above and beyond for both her teammates and the club, embodying the values that define Lewes FC.
It was a fitting end to a memorable night- one that celebrated not just individual excellence, but the spirit of a community that continues to grow stronger together.
We look forward to welcoming you all back next season.
COME ON YOU ROOKS!
