Introducing the New Third Kit: Made for Our People

In our 140th year, Lewes FC proudly unveils a kit unlike any we have ever worn, made not for the club, but for the people who have carried it through every moment of its history. This is a shirt without a badge, a shirt that belongs to all of us.
The absence of a crest is deliberate. Without a symbol dictating meaning, this kit returns to what truly matters: belonging without permission. It is not just Lewes FC’s identity; it is the story of the town, the people, and the shared history that holds us together.
The vertical lines woven through the fabric are drawn directly from the landscape of Lewes. They trace the gentle course of the River Ouse, quietly shaping both land and life. They mirror the railway lines that have brought generations here, to work, to matches, to protests, to possibility. They echo the unique procession down the High Street that only Lewes Bonfire Night can claim. These lines speak of movement and return, weaving a connection across generations who have stood side by side in the stands, united by this club and this town.
Black roots the kit in our rich history; gold drives us forward. The year 1885 rests quietly, not as a boast, but as a reminder: this club endures because of persistence – volunteers, players, staff, and fans who showed up, worked hard, and stood united through every challenge.
Gold and black intertwine just as the Ouse carves through the land, not with force, but with steady purpose. These lines speak of trade, dissent, community, football, and bonfire nights. They remind us that progress is rarely loud, but always unwavering. Everything we do in Lewes is for More Than Us. As a town and a club, Lewes has always stood for progress, independence, sacrifice, intellectual freedom, and alternative culture. We are living history with every step and every kick of the ball. Football and life can be done differently and for the people.
Wearing this kit, the story grows. Born from the vision of a local fan, it’s designed to live alongside the denim worn beside it in evening light, in casual conversation, and throughout our town. It becomes a portrait, not of glory, but of pride and shared responsibility. This kit reflects everyone who has carried it, and those we may never know who will carry it for the next 140 years, across all ages, backgrounds, and identities. No single face above another. This isn’t representation by design, but truth: a reflection of how we welcome every fan to The Dripping Pan, uniquely and unlike any other club.
The club exists because many hands have held it up and many still do. History meets the present here not just in symbols, but in shared care and action. Those who came before us live on in our foundations, present in every glance, every stance, and every moment of belonging.
This is not a kit to admire from afar. It is made to be worn, lived in, and carried forward by our people. A lineage made visible. A town mapped in lines. A club still moving forward like the river, like the rails, like the people who carry its history one step at a time, through the good times and the hard ones.
This kit belongs to you.
To the people.
To the town of Lewes.
Wear it proudly. Live it. Celebrate it.
This is Lewes FC. This is for the people.
