Men's football news

There’s few Rooks fans who enjoyed the trip to Dartford FC back in September when we met Thamesmead Town in the FA Cup. On that sunny day, the Rooks fell behind within the first minute and never recovered, suffering our heaviest (and one of our two) defeats so far this season. Since that game, the Rooks have won twelve, drawn three and lost just once. Our home form remains very good with just that defeat to Corinthian Casuals a blot on the landscape.

Thamesmead Town warmed up for their visit to The Pan on Saturday with an impressive 5-2 defeat of Phoenix Sports on Wednesday with goals from Danny Parish x 2, Tom O’Connor, Laurent Mendy and former Rook Richard Pacquette. They’ve won four, drawn two and lost two on their travels this season, scoring fourteen and conceding twelve in the process. Over the last eight games our respective form has been relatively equal (18 points to 17).

Since our last meeting back in September, leading scorer Alex Teniola has moved on, joining Aveley, with Pacquette making Town his 37th club of his career. Two weeks ago they beat Herne Bay 3-2 but as a cost with attacking full-back Harvey Brand limping off and influential midfielder, Scott Kinch receiving a straight red card.

Darren will still be without Alex Malins and has a number of other players with injury doubts but will make a late assessment on them.

Kick off at The Pan on Saturday is 3pm. Admission is £11 for Adults, £6 for Concessions and Kids Under16 (and dogs!) go free when accompanied by an adult.
