Lewes FC have teamed up with the Russell Martin Foundation to open a SSE Wildcats centre in Lewes

Wildcats is aimed at girls aged between 5-11 and provides an open and fun environment for them to learn and train.

The Football Association and SSE teamed up to launch the new initiative in 2017, SSE Wildcats, designed to inspire girls to be involved in the sport.

John Donoghue, Lewes FC Women’s manager, commented: “The success of our team and the EqualityFC (equal pay) campaign has helped to create a huge increase in interest in the women’s game locally. In particular, we’ve seen so many young girls coming along to matches and we want to build on that by offering more ways in to playing football for the youngest ones. Wildcats is a really exciting new development.”
