Men's football news
So far, so good over the Christmas period with two wins and no goals conceded. The re-enforcements brought in by Darren Freeman last week have certainly made an immediate impact, with Liam Wilson slotting in alongside Frankie Chappell to form a solid central defensive pairing, Omarr Lawson looking like he’s been a Rook for some time whilst Leon Redwood capped off an excellent game on Tuesday with a superb free-kick that flew in off the bar. All three continue in the squad for Saturday’s game against South Park, deputising for the injured Matt Hurley, Alex Malins, Lloyd Cotton, Bouwe Bosma and Matthew George.
South Park come into the game on the back of three consecutive wins, although Wednesday’s game at East Grinstead Town fell foul of the weather. Since we last met back in November they have played four, only dropping points in the defeat at Faversham Town. Their record on the road this season is good, winning seven and drawing one of their twelve games, scoring twenty four goals in the process, conceding sixteen. The dangermen are Chris Smith and Jack Mazzone, with 25 goals between them this season.
The Rooks have the meanest home defence in the Bostik League South, conceding just nine times in twelve games so far this season and have won our last three matches at The Pan.
Kick off , weather permitting, on Saturday is 3pm at The Pan.
