Lewes boss Tony Russell has strengthened his side ahead of a packed autumn schedule with the signings of Jamie Mascoll and Johnville Renee this week.

Mascoll, 25, most recently played at Wealdstone and arrives at the Dripping Pan with bags of Football League experience.

The versatile midfielder has played under Russell earlier in his career and the manager says he can’t wait to show the Rooks fans what Mascoll can offer.

“I gave Jamie first-team football at Cray when he was 17 years old,” says Russell. “He then went on to play well for Dulwich and then Charlton for a few years as a pro.

“Despite his age he’s got bags of experience, has played at Bolton and Wycombe, and went to Wealdstone last season. He’ll bring good quality to this team. He’s still at a good age at 25 and we’re excited to have him in.”

Lewes have also succeeded in landing 25-year-old Renee – a versatile right-sided player who will also be in the squad for Saturday’s clash with Sevenoaks.

“Johnville has played for Bishop’s Stortford against us and I’ve always liked him, always thought he’s a really good player,” says Russell.

“We’ve managed to secure him and he’ll be in the squad for Sevenoaks on Saturday.

“Johnville brings really good quality across the pitch. He needs a little bit more coaching because there’s a lot more to come from him, but his natural attributes are very, very good. He’s extremely quick, strong, can play full-back or winger, even in midfield. Johnville gives us great options.”

Lewes FC would like to welcome both Jamie and Johnville to the club.
