Previously, at Crystal Palace, in her league debut Salgado earned a place in team of the week, securing the club their first clean sheet in the 2018/19 season.
Similarly in her debut with Charlton, the 27 year old again held a clean sheet and was named in team of the week in 2019/20.
Having acquired an ACL injury during her time at Charlton, Shanell has been recovering from injury and working hard to return to full fitness. During her time away from the pitch Shanell was able to build a career as an Accountant and now joins Lewes ready for a new chapter and a fresh challenge.
Shanell commented:
“I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to join Lewes. It’s a wonderful club to be part of and everyone’s work ethic is amazing.”
First Team Manager Simon Parker commented:
“We’re excited to have Shanell join our squad for 2021/22 and its great to see her talent brought to life having returned from injury at the start of the previous season.
Shanell is a good person, a good character and will bring competition to the goalkeeper position. We’re really happy to have her on board”.
