We are pleased to announce the signing of 24-year-old winger, Aqsa Mushtaq.
Aqsa joins the club having most recently played for Greek side, Ergotelis, in the Pan-Hellenic Women’s Football Championship.
She signed her first professional contract at 22 when she signed for Napoli in 2020 where she was also joined by Izzy Dalton. In doing so she was the first ever player of Pakistani heritage to play in the Italian top flight.
Aqsa was however born and raised in Bradford and played in their academy before she moved to Lenoir-Rhyne University in the United States. Aqsa was voted South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year in 2019-2020.
Upon signing for Lewes, Aqsa said: “It’s a great environment to be in, the girls seem like a really great group and I’m excited to get started.
“I hope to bring good vibes, good charisma, score some goals and hopefully get some wins for the team.”
Aqsa becomes our third signing of the window and joins straight up with Scott Booth’s squad ahead of Sunday’s trip to Ipswich.
