There are two games at the Dripping Pan this weekend and we have a special request to you: swap your reusable cups at the Pan!
If you have Refill Not Landfill cups taking up space in your cupboard and don’t want them anymore then DON’T THROW THEM AWAY!
Lewes FC will take all unwanted Refill Not Landfill cups in October, starting on Saturday when our men’s team face Bracknell Town, and Sunday when our women’s team face Plymouth.
For this weekend only you’ll be able to swap your Refill Not Landfill cup for an amazing new Lewes FC x Harvey’s reusable cup.
We’ve teamed up with Harvey’s to release the limited edition reusable cup that you can get for free when you swap your Refill Not Landfill cup at our games on Saturday and Sunday.
Why we’re swapping cups
We’re doing this not only to give something special back to our amazing fans but also to donate the Refill Not Landfill cups back to the Town Council in time for Bonfire.
Until last year, thousands of single-use plastic cups were thrown away each Lewes Bonfire. The Town Council’s Refill Not Landfill initiative dramatically reduced single-use plastic waste last year, and they need as many of their cups back to do the same this year too.
So, swap your Refill Not Landfill cup for a Lewes FC x Harvey’s cup at this weekend’s fixtures:
• Saturday – Lewes FC Men vs Bracknell Town (3pm)
• Sunday – Lewes FC Women vs Plymouth Argyle (2pm)
What happens after that?
After this weekend, the limited edition cups will leave the bar and be sold in our new club shop. We will then launch a standard Lewes FC reusable cup that you can still get when you swap your Refill Not Landfill cups at fixtures this October.
If you don’t have any more Refill Not Landfill cups to swap, then you’ll be able to get the standard cup for a £1 charge the next time you head to the Rook Inn or our other bars in the Dripping Pan. That cup is then yours to keep, or you can donate it back so we can wash, dry and store it for the next game.
I have Refill Not Landfill cups but can’t get to a game
If you’re not able to swap your Refill Not Landfill cup at a match then feel free to drop it off any day of the week instead. Doing this helps clear out your cupboard and save so much plastic waste.
