Simon Parker’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend as Lewes welcome Charlton Athletic. This Sunday, The DrippingPan will also welcome fans back to the stands!
In the Rooks’ most recent match they hosted Bristol City in the Continental Tyres Cup. It was the visitors who claimed the three points on the night winning 3-1 with Rhian Cleverly scoring the only goal for Lewes. This result ended the Rooks’ Continental Tyres Cup campaign.
In the league, Lewes currently sit in sixth place with 11 points, seven points behind league leaders Durham and six points ahead of this weekend’s visitors Charlton Athletic.
The most recent league match saw Lewes travel to the capital to take on London Bees. In a tight match, it was the Bees who took the three points after Lauren Pickett scored from the penalty spot.
Lewes will be looking to regain their form on Sunday, with their last win coming back in October against Blackburn Rovers. This win was however followed up by two important and well-earned draws against Sheffield United and Liverpool.
Sunday’s visitors Charlton currently sit bottom of the table with five points, having won one and drawn two.
The Addicks’ only win came in gameweek two of the season when they travelled to Lancashire to take on Blackburn Rovers. Charlton won the match in the closing moments, when former Lewes player Jess King scored, meaning the points went back to London.
The last time these two sides met was back in August 2019 in south-east London. The result that day saw the points shared in a 0-0 draw.
