Lewes FC are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Sarah Kempson, who will wear the number 10 this season and becomes Simon Parker’s fifth summer signing.
Kempson started her football career at Chelsea in 2005 and remained in West London until 2009. The midfielder then made the move to the south coast to join Brighton & Hove Albion for a season and later moved to the Club she supports, Portsmouth and spent six years there. The number 10 also attended England camps at U19 and U23 level.
Many Lewes fans will also know that Kempson has previously played for the Rooks and soon became a fan favourite.
Not only does Kempson play club football, but she has also represented England and Great Britain when playing beach soccer. In 2017 Kempson became a European Champion with England in Portugal and later in the year won the inaugural World Player of the Year award. Two years later Kempson represented Great Britain at the world beach games and won a silver medal.
On the pitch, Kempson describes her biggest strengths as her shooting and finishing. While her most memorable football moment is winning the league with Portsmouth and her best beach soccer moments are representing Great Britain, winning the European Championships and being ranked first in the world.
