Men’s First Team Squad Update – part 2

Club news

Following on from the announcements on Saturday as to how the squad is taking shape for the 2020-21 season, the club is very pleased to announce the next batch of players who will be returning to the Dripping Pan for the next campaign.

After recording approximately 1 minute of competitive action last season due to injury, Mauritian international Gary Noel hopes to make a real impact at The Pan in the forthcoming campaign.  For those with a long memory, you will remember Gary played 17 times for the Rooks in 2011, scoring three times in the then Blue Square South before heading off to play in Austria and Germany.

Another player who has significant experience at a higher level and is returning to the Pan is Christian Frimpong.  The former Braintree Town defender made six appearances for the Rooks at the end of the season and will be a key member of Hugo Langton’s squad in the coming season.

Attacking midfielder Dimitri Hatzimouratis may have had one of the longest names in the squad last season but he will always have the claim to fame of scoring the last Rooks goal of the campaign in the 2-1 win against Haringey Borough and will be back at the Pan for the next campaign looking to add to that tally.

Finally, midfielder Ross Barclay will be back in the squad this season after spending most of last season out on loan, gaining first team experience, with East Grinstead Town.

One player who we have reluctantly said goodbye to is Tom Day who rejected the contract offer the club made to him.  Tom was a regular in the Rooks team since joining from Eastbourne Borough in 2018, making 39 appearances last season.  We wish Tom all the best for the future.

Further squad updates will follow in the coming days.
