Darren Freeman’s 2018/19 squad continues to be bolstered with several midfielders committing to the club for next season.
Back for the new season will be one of the club’s longest-serving players – at the ripe old age of 20! Ronnie Conlon is one of the few players to play for our Academy, Under-18s, Development Squad and First Team and he’ll be bringing his midfield trickery back to the Pan next season. Ronnie made 45 appearances for the first team last season, scoring six goals in the process.
He’ll be joined by James Hammond, the battling midfielder who was named Manger’s Young Player of the Season. Hammo scored the first goal of last season – a crucial last-minute strike at Herne Bay – and was a near ever-present in midfield with 43 appearances.
Next season will also see the return of the ‘Bostik Bergkamp’, Jamie Brotherton. The tricksy winger was a key part of our early season surge up the table, scoring a dozen goals in 38 first team appearances in 2017/18.
Omarr Lawson has also pledged his future to the Rooks. Lawson joined from VCD midway through the 2017/18 campaign and made an immediate impact. He scored the first goal in our crucial victory at Cray Wanderers, his only strike in 19 appearances.
The midfield men can be added to the list of defenders we announced last week. We’ll be announcing more signings shortly.
