Lewes FC have signed goalkeeper Frankie Angel on a dual-contract with Brighton.
The shot-stopper, who had been at Brighton since joining their U12s team as a 10-year-old, becomes the latest recruit under new manager Scott Booth.
Aged 18, Angel has made a number of appearances since signing stepping up to the Brighton first team two years ago.
Now the Hassocks native is heading to the Dripping Pan and says she can’t wait to get into the thick of it.
“I’m here on a dual contract and my aim is to get more experience and add more to my game,” Angel says. “I’ve been at Brighton since I was 10. Living in Hassocks I’ve got to know Lewes over the years, I’ve always known there’s a friendly club here and a great one to be at.
“I came and trained a bit last season, and then spoke to my coaches at Brighton. We agreed that if an opportunity at Lewes became available then I should take it. It’s all about building my game.”
‘I want to play as much as I can’
A goalkeeper with plenty of talent, Angel says she is ready to learn under boss Scott Booth and the new coaching staff at Lewes.
“I love to play with the ball at my feet and play positive passes forward,” she adds. “It’s all about being positive on the pitch and helping out where I can.
“My aim this season is to grow as a player while helping the team. I want to play as much as I can and get experience where I can. I’m really looking forward to getting started!”
Everyone at Lewes FC would like to welcome Frankie to the club.
