HeForShe is a campaign for the advancement of gender equality, initiated by the United Nations. It invites men to play an active part in the goal of reaching worldwide gender equality in all areas.
Lewes FC has been shortlisted for the UK HeForShe Inspiration Award, celebrating “extraordinary organisations who’ve advanced gender equality, especially by engaging men.”
The judges said: “Your organisation’s incredible record of decisive action in the industry and beyond has been extremely inspiring”.
The club is beyond proud that our contribution to gender equality in the sphere of football is gaining recognition.
Equal playing budgets, equal training facilities, equal access to the club stadium are all choices. The only barriers are in people’s minds.
The final stage of the judging process is a presentation to a panel on June 12th who will then decide on the ultimate winning organisation.
