Lewes FC menopause awareness campaign in collaboration with Ancient + Brave | B Corp
Equality isn’t about treating everyone the same, it’s about treating every individual person in a way that they become equal to everyone else. And that’s one of the many reasons why we felt it was important to highlight the potential effects of menopause and the support you can get.
One of the first things you see as you enter the Dripping Pan is a sign telling visitors where to breastfeed, giving fans and potential fans ‘signals’ and ‘entry points’ into football, making them feel like its their game too is an integral part of what we do at Lewes. Our aim was for our campaign ‘signals’ to reach the right people far and wide (our incredible campaign sponsors helped us achieve this by using their database and socials)
How did we run the campaign? We received some very honest answers from our fans asking them two questions: ‘what do you wish your younger self had known’ and ‘what should a supportive partner know’. These were shared online, in our women’s match day programme and in our men’s match day programme too. Website piece here: https://lnkd.in/exdH4aSx
This leads me to dream campaign partners Ancient + Brave. A female led company with empowerment at the heart of everything they do. Ancient + Brave were able to help us with both of our aims, teaching people about the menopause (using their in house doctors) and giving advice and also because they truly believe in our movement, telling their customer base about our mission and what we’re trying to do (this was mostly organic and so beautiful!)
Match day yesterday was simply the best. Loved handing out Ancient + Brave collagen, we had special guests Hotties FC supporting our campaign (picture of their lovely players below). Loved that collagen (vegan option too) linked well to all of the other little quirks at Lewes (picture below of our vegan cheese board, oat sachets and collagen).
We love doing football differently and thank you for a great week Ancient + Brave
