Rooks striker George Landais has left the club to join Horsham for the remainder of the season.
George has been on loan at Horsham for the past six weeks, but has now reached the maximum amount of time he can spend on short-term loan at the club. Darren Freeman has therefore agreed to cancel George’s contract with Lewes, which ran until the end of this season, so that George can continue to get game time at our Sussex neighbours.
“George has done brilliantly to come back from a serious injury,” said Darren. “George is a great lad and he just needs to be playing right now, and I can’t guarantee him first-team starts. I like to treat players in the same way I’d treat my own boys, and the best thing for him now is to get game time at Horsham.”
Darren was keen to stress that the door remains open for George. “It’s all been very amicable and he hasn’t cut his ties with the the club. I’ll sit down and have a coffee with George at the end of the season, and we’ll take things from there.”
Everyone at the club wishes George all the best.
