Lewes FC are delighted to announce the signing of 19-year-old winger Hannah Griffin, who becomes the Rooks’ fourth signing of the summer.
Growing up in Luxembourg, Griffin started her career playing for local side FC Munsbach until the age of 15. The winger then switched clubs to play for the U17 team of FC Saarbrücken. She spent one year with the youth team before moving up to the first team.
Away from club football, the new number 19 represented Luxembourg from the age of 12 to 15. She then made her international debut for England at the age of 16 and has played for the U16, U17 and U19 age groups for The Lionesses.
Hannah describes making her England debut as one of her proudest moments in football. Griffin also points out one match that stands out for her from the elite round of the U17 Euro Qualifiers. England required a win from the game, while opponents Norway only required a draw. Despite the tight game England got the result they needed and qualified for the finals.
One thing to look out for on the pitch is Griffin’s speed, as she looks to make life difficult on the wing for defenders this season.
