Men's football news
After the euphoria of Wednesday night’s win over Horsham which confirmed promotion for the Rooks back to the Bostik League Premier Division, attention now turns to trying to win the title in the race with Carshalton Athletic.
It is likely that The Rooks will need all nine points from the remaining three games, starting with the visit of East Grinstead Town on Saturday. One thing is certain is that Darren Freeman will not be taking his foot off the gas and his expectations from the squad will be higher than before. Whilst a few of the side are suffering from the effects of a long, hard season, most of the squad will be available for selection on Saturday which means Jamie Brotherton and Charlie Coppola could be back in line for a recall after missing Wednesday’s game due to injury.
The Rooks will be looking to keep their impressive home record going, having taken 49 points from 21 games so far, the best record in the division. We’ve lost just twice this season and have won eight of the last ten home games at The Pan. Only Cray Wanderers and Walton Casuals have scored more goals at home than Lewes this season, whilst at the other end we’ve only conceded 16 goals, the best in the league.
East Grinstead Town arrive in East Sussex on the back of three consecutive defeats, the last against Phoenix Sports a week ago but they are in the habit of scoring goals, having scored in 22 of their last 23 games. They’ve won four, drawn four and lost thirteen of their away games this season..
Kick off on Saturday at The Pan is 3pm. Admission is £11 for Adults, £6 for Concessions, Kids go Free when accompanied by adults
