Lewes FC Men are thrilled to announce the signing of midfielder, Luke Dreher, on a one-month loan from Wealdstone.
Luke, 24, came through the academy of Crystal Palace where he joined at the age of nine.
He was on the fringes of the first team at just 17 and was named Under-18s Player of the Year in May 2016.
Luke made his first appearance for the Eagles in a 5-3 win over Bournemouth in 2019 but following a stint on loan at Bromley in 2022, he was released.
After impressing on trial, Luke joined Wealdstone earlier in the summer but injury has prevented him from kicking on.
Manager, Tony Russell, commented: “We are delighted to bring Luke in on loan. We are very light on numbers at the moment, so to get someone of Luke’s quality in was very pleasing.
“I can’t thank Stuart Maynard and Wealdstone enough for making the deal happen and trusting us to get Luke back to the match fitness levels they need him at.
“We had Jaydn last season from Wealdstone, and that went well for all parties, so I’m excited about the relationship the two clubs are building. Luke’s pedigree is excellent, but he is short of match fitness, so we must be patient with him.
“He trained last night and looks like a very good footballer with all the tools. I’m looking forward to working with him, that’s for sure.”
The Club can also announce the mutual departure of midfielder Alfie Egan.
Alfie joined us from Dorking Wanderers in the close season and went on to make 9 appearances in all competitions. We wish Alfie well with his next club.
