Club news

The club would like to express our thanks to everyone who has worked so hard for the Lewes FC community over the past year. From our full- and part-time staff to our volunteers, security, Football Foundation members, Supporters Club members, owners and fans – combined you have made 2024 a year to remember.
The Rooks’ last away match of 2024 comes on Saturday, when Craig Nelson’s first team face Wingate & Finchley. Lewes FC Men then host Folkestone Invicta at the Dripping Pan on Boxing Day (3pm).
The past few months have been particularly intense on the staff, board, and volunteers who support the Lewes FC ecosystem. We are therefore planning a period of “downtime” at the Pan between 20 December and Boxing Day, to give staff time to reset and enjoy some time away from the club.
The fun never stops, of course. We’ll actually have some staff in every day during this period, including Christmas Day to prepare the Pan for the Folkestone game.
Obviously this “downtime” doesn’t affect preparations for our two upcoming matches in the Isthmian Premier League. Pitts, his staff, the players, and the board are working as hard as ever to be ready for two crucial matches. However, this is the first opportunity in months for many of our staff members to have a few days off.
2025 promises to be a big year for Lewes FC and our community. We are in a consultation period about raising investment through owners under a new club structure; the Lewes Football Foundation is growing every month; our local and global impact is huge; our Equal FA Cup campaign has entered a new, exciting phase; and the Dripping Pan continues to be steadily improved for all supporters.
Our passion to use football for good never stops. We just need some time to reset before starting up again.
See you on Boxing Day and in the New Year!
