Lewes FC Men face Folkestone Invicta on Boxing Day – and we’re expecting a bumper crowd at the Dripping Pan for the 3pm kick off!
If you’ve got your ticket for the game – they’re still available to buy online – then please bear in mind the updated travel restrictions that could affect the Lewes area on Boxing Day.
TRAINS
There are no trains running from Folkestone to Lewes on Boxing Day. In fact, Lewes train station will be closed on 26 December and there are no trains running across the south east (apart from the Brighton-Victoria line that serves Gatwick airport). Please don’t plan to travel by train!
BUSES
There are two bus services running through Lewes on the Brighton to Eastbourne line on 26 December.
The 28 and 29B both start at Churchill Square in Brighton and stop through Lewes. However, only a handful go all the way to Eastbourne (one every two hours). Please check this Brighton & Hove bus timetable for Boxing day times.
CAR
As always, you are welcome to arrive by car but please note that the Mountfield Road car park is likely to fill up very quickly, and might already be full on Boxing Day morning.
There are electric car charger points in the Mountfield Road car park but, again, it’s possible these will be taken fairly quickly on Boxing Day morning.
Please follow the RAC’s driving advice if the weather is bad over the Christmas period.
BIKE
There is a bike rack next to the Mount beyond the car park at the Dripping Pan. Here at Lewes FC we encourage cyclists to attend games and use the bike rack provided, rather than chaining their bikes to the entrance to the ground.
WALK
Most of you will know this already but the Dripping Pan is less than a 10-minute walk from Lewes town centre.
