Bosma joins Brothers in arms

Men's football news

Lewes FC are pleased to announce the signing of Eastbourne Borough midfielder Bouwe Bosma, along with the re-signing of Jamie Brotherton for next season.

Midfielder Bosma actually signed on a dual-registration basis at the end of last season, but was drafted back into Borough’s first team after the departure of manager Tommy Widdrington. He’s now signing on a permanent basis with Lewes, helping to bolster the midfield.

“It’s a great signing for Lewes and shows how far we’ve come as a club,” said manager Darren Freeman of his latest recruit. “He will bring competition in the midfield area and a physical presence. He’s an honest lad and wears his heart on his sleeve, and has a presence about him.”

Bouwe will be joined at the Dripping Pan next season by Jamie Brotherton, who has also agreed terms for next season. Jamie scored 13 goals in 39 appearances for the Rooks last season, including some truly breathtaking strikes, such as the fine 20-yard strike in the 5-2 victory over Cray Wanderers. Injuries hampered both the start and the end of the campaign for Brothers, but the 28-year-old will be hoping to make an even bigger impression in 2017-/18.
