There’s just three games to go but they’re coming thick and fast! Sunday, we travel to Hayes Lane, Bromley to face Crystal Palace in the first of a three-game week to conclude the season.

Ahead of the game, Scott gives us his reflection on the win last week.

“It was nice to get three points again, I think we played pretty well in the game overall. We created a number of good chances.

“Blackburn were always going to be difficult to beat and breakdown, and they have some dangerous players at set-plays but I feel we dealt with it well.”

We’re no strangers to the Eagles having faced them twice already this campaign. We ran 4-1 winners at Hayes Lane in the Conti Cup before losing 1-0 the following week in the league at the Pan.

A lot has changed since then but Scott gives his thoughts on those games.

“It was a case of one game we took our chances and one where we really didn’t. We were really clinical in the 4-1 game but it was the opposite in the second one.

“We had numerous chances, they didn’t have many at all and we ended up losing the game so it was a sore one at the time.

“Palace are a good side though, they had a kind of difficult spell but they’ve come through that and are playing really good football.

“They’re a little bit unpredictable, they play on the front foot, they want to go and score goals, that’s why they don’t draw many.

“When it works for them they are very, very good and very attack minded which is something we have to be mindful of.”

The game Sunday is an opportunity as well for us to go one point behind Palace in our search for a strong finish to the season.

“We just want to pick up as many points as we can in these last three games, making sure that we end on as big of a high as possible.

“A win gives us an opportunity as well for us to jump a spot in the table when we have our game in hand on Wednesday.

“We’re up for the fight but we know it’s going to be a tough one away from home.

“The games will come thick and fast now to the end of the season next week. There won’t be much training!

“It’ll be tough for the players, especially at the end of the season, but it is just that, the end of the season, one week to go and I’m sure the players will be up for it.”

We have a lot more depth in our squad since the turn of the year, something Scott believes is important for weeks like this.

“It’s obviously important that we have strength and depth. We have players that have come in and done well and it gives us a bit of a headache!

“All in all, the competition is good and you need that in a squad. Especially with weeks like this where you might need to make one or two changes in a game.”

Join us for our LAST home game of the season against Durham on Sunday 30 April.
