Today is International Women’s Day, which serves as a reminder of the immense value women bring to organisations. At Lewes FC, we have experienced firsthand how women’s leadership and perspectives can unlock new levels of performance – within individuals, teams and across our entire ecosystem.

Empowering women drives innovation, fosters inclusivity and strengthens our team dynamics. This ultimately improves both on-field performance and business results.

Here at Lewes FC we’re proud of our equality stance, which is sadly still unique in world football. But we know we can do more. We must do better.

This International Women’s Day, our focus is about how diversity drives performance. Gender diversity creates a stronger, more resilient organisation, which benefits from broader thinking and different abilities. At a community-owned club like Lewes FC, we need diversity more than most.

Lewes Board Elections: We Want You!

Looking ahead to our 2025 board elections, we are actively striving to achieve 50/50 representation of women and diverse voices on our board. We’ve learned that when our board is diverse and our board culture is collaborative, we perform at our best – on and off the pitch.

This intentional focus on diversity and inclusion helps us build a future-proofed club that is rooted in our values, empowering our local communities to connect, collaborate and drive meaningful change.

Diversity cannot simply be a buzz word, just as International Women’s Day cannot champion women for just 24 hours.

With board elections in April 2025, if you thrive in a diverse ecosystem and can bring high performance to ours – WE WANT YOU!

Lewes FC is not just a sports organisation but a valuable local business. We have a responsibility to create a healthy, safe environment where people can grow, pursue their careers and innovate. Strong business foundations drive great football – from the first team competing at the Dripping Pan to the kids playing in the Lewes Football Foundation. Great football enhances the fan experience and pride in our club.

We are striving to be a strong, sustainable business that enhances the lives, careers, and well-being of our unique “glocal” communities.

So, on this International Women’s Day, it’s time to think beyond 8 March and look ahead to what the future can hold for Lewes FC and our community. Diversity isn’t a buzz word, it drives performance.
