We are delighted to announce that David Altendorff will be joining the Club as Joint Men’s 1st Team Assistant Manager
A Lewes native having been born and raised in the town, as well as previously captaining our 18’s team in his playing days, David brings a wealth of knowledge to the 1st Team setup with his experience as Manager at Lancing, Newhaven, Loxwood, Whitehawk and most recently, Hastings United.
David said: “This is a proud moment for me and my family. Lewes is my home town and a club that is very close to my heart. I am excited about connecting with the supporters – many of whom are good friends of mine – and I will do everything I can to support Pitts, Bryan and the rest of the group to achieve success on the pitch”.
Manager Craig Nelson said: “I’m delighted to welcome David to Lewes. As someone with strong Sussex roots, David understands the football culture and community that make this club so special”.
“He brings great energy, a strong knowledge of the game, and a real commitment to developing players and building a positive environment. His local connection, combined with his ambition and professionalism, makes him an excellent fit for Lewes, and I’m looking forward to working with him as we continue to move the club forward.”
Director, John Peel said “We’re really pleased to have David on board for next season and he will be a great enhancement to what is already a superb collective of coaching talent on our men’s side.
“David is someone we’ve been aware of for some time, having done such excellent work in environments that were often challenging at his previous clubs.
“His football philosophy fits neatly with our model of attacking, energetic, inventive football. The side he brought to us in August 2024 as Joint Manager of Whitehawk was a great demonstration of that”.
