Lewes FC are pleased to confirm the signings of Taurean Roberts, Lui Edwards and Aaron Jenkins to the men’s first team squad.

Roberts and Edwards made their debut appearances for the Rooks last Saturday against Folkestone Invicta, while Jenkins came on as a substitute in the preceding match at Billericay Town.

Roberts (pictured, top) is an experienced and versatile winger who started his football career in the Crystal Palace academy, where he was a contemporary of former Premier League player Wilfried Zaha.

The 34-year-old has a wealth of non-league experience, including a stint with Hampton & Richmond in National League South. He was also part of the 2022-23 Walton & Hersham side that gained promotion from the Isthmian League South Central.

In December 2025, Roberts joined Hythe Town, his most recent club before signing for Lewes.

Edwards (pictured right, middle) can play as a number nine or 10 and therefore adds depth to the Rooks’ attacking options.

A product of Woking’s junior system, he joins Lewes from Southern Combination Premier side Roffey on a dual-registration basis.

Jenkins (pictured right, bottom) is an exciting winger who, along with Roberts, further reinforces the team’s wide-playing capabilities.

He is also a proven scorer in the Isthmian League South East, netting six times for his previous club Sevenoaks Town.

The club would like to welcome all three players to The Dripping Pan.

“I’ve known Taurs a long time; we grew up together,” said Nelson.

“He’s got great pedigree and has had a great career so far. He’ll bring a bit of old-school mentality in terms of leadership.

“Lui has been scoring goals at the level below. We’ve kept an eye on him and felt now is the right time to incorporate him into the squad.

“AJ made his debut with us a couple of weeks ago and was again part of the squad for Folkestone. He impressed us during his time at Sevenoaks and has been settling in well so far.

“We’ve been trying to maintain squad depth, which we’ve done with these signings, and are continuing to actively look at further reinforcement.”

In addition to those signings, the club can also confirm the departures of Arezki Hamouchene and Lukas Franzen-Jones since our last squad update.

Attacking midfielder Hamouchene was part of the Rooks squad that started the 2025-26 season, scoring once in 19 appearances.

Striker Franzen-Jones joined in October and netted once in 15 outings, that being the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Cheshunt.

The club would like to thank Arezki and Lukas for their efforts during their time with Lewes and wish them well for the future.
