Lewes FC lifted the Sussex County Cup in emphatic style on Wednesday evening, sweeping aside Saltdean United with a commanding 5-0 victory.
Following a 8-0 win on the weekend in the league, the Rooks delivered a professional and clinical performance to retain the cup.
Full credit goes to a Saltdean side who have enjoyed an excellent season and arrive in the final on the back of promotion.
The game was effectively settled before half-time, with Lewes producing a ruthless attacking display. Leah Lane was the standout performer, scoring a superb first-half hat-trick, while Chelsea Ferguson added two more, both assisted by Leah, to complete the scoring before the break.
With a five-goal cushion, Lewes controlled the second half with composure, managing the game comfortably and ensuring there was no way back for their spirited opponents.
The victory secures silverware for Lewes and reflects the strength and depth within the squad, as well as the high standards they have set throughout the season.
It was a night to celebrate for players, staff and supporters alike, as the Rooks brought the Sussex County Cup back to the Dripping Pan in style
