Become an Owner and Join the Revolution
PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ORDER TO VOTE IN THE FORTHCOMING BOARD ELECTIONS, YOU MUST HAVE BECOME AN OWNER BY CLOSE OF PLAY 30th SEPTEMBER.
Most football clubs are privately owned, with wealthy backers ploughing their own money in. As Lewes FC found out in 2010, no matter how deep their pockets are this is a precarious model that has sent many clubs into receivership. We were less than 24 hours away from this reality until a group of local fans transformed the club into a Community Benefit Society – allowing our fans to own and run the club.
We believe that thousands of fans owning an equal share in their club is a more equitable and sustainable way of doing things.
Which means that you can be the next owner of our club – for just £30 a year.
See here for more information about how ownership works.
Make a Difference
Aside from helping the club to deliver success on the pitch for our mens’ and ladies’ teams, you’ll also be enabling us to make a real social difference to our region. We help individuals, schools and community organisations to better themselves through the power of sport and education – regardless of age, gender or ability. See our community pages for more.
Make Killer Savings in Lewes
Another great owner benefit is our ‘Support and Save’ card scheme, enabling you to save up to 10% at nearly 100 shops in Lewes. We’ve partnered with all of the best retailers to bring you great deals – so that when you become an owner of our club, we give you some amazing discounts. See our dedicated Support and Save site for more info. (Once you become an owner, you get this card too!)
How Many Shares Can I Buy?
One. Our system is ‘one owner, one share, one vote.’ This is to protect the club from being bought by one unscrupulous owner. But you can buy a share for a friend or a family member (although kids won’t have voting rights until they are 16). Just enter your name (or the name of the person you’re buying for) in the ‘name’ box on the form below. Any share you buy will be valid for a year from the date you apply.
(NB: This is not an investment and there will be no return on or of the money you put in.)
