In what is Mental Health Awareness Week, Lewes FC has received a big boost from the Town Council.

Newly appointed Mayor, John Lamb has chosen, as one of the two local projects he will support, Lewes FC’s long-running mental wellbeing project, Football Therapy.

Run in partnership with Southdown Housing, our Football therapy sessions run every Thursday evening between 7-8pm on our 3G all-weather pitch.

Football Therapy has been running for several years now and offers football sessions and coaching to anyone going through mental wellbeing difficulties. Aside from a football coach, the sessions also have a Support Worker on hand for anyone who might need to talk about anything during the session.

The Mayor’s support means that he will help us to raise up to £2,000 towards the costs of kit and equipment. This is great news for all participants including our Football Therapy team who play in the Sussex County FA Disability League and have their final round of fixtures this Sunday afternoon at Lancing. Good luck to them!
