Lewes FC Women striker Jess King and Development/Marketing Manager Rosy Matheson were asked to participate in what was described as “Britain’s biggest conversation on women’s sport” for BBC Radio Five Live’s Friday Sports Panel.

There were some amazing participants from the world of sport, including Dame Kelly Holmes, Jasmine Sawyers and Lauren Steadman. Sports Minister Mims Davies was on the panel, as was the Head of BBC Sport Barbara Slater. Jess King said: ” It was a great afternoon and very inspiring to hear the stories of how sport can build resilience. There were also some really interesting discussions on body image and learning to accept your body as it is.”

Rosy Matheson said: “It was really good to get involved in this recording because we got to talk about Lewes and its equal pay policy. We also met leading sportswomen from football, rugby, cricket, rowing, skiing and boxing.  They all said sport was a great way for girls to gain true confidence.”

The “Change the Game” programme was meant to go out live but because of Theresa May’s resignation, it was moved but can be heard by listening to it via BBC podcasts or pushing the red button.
