We are sad to announce that as of Wednesday 6 December, Ed Briggs’ term as Director has come to an end as he chose not to stand for another three years.
Ed joined the board in 2017 and has since served two terms in which he has worked very closely on the facilities side of things at the Dripping Pan and was instrumental in getting us our incredible new seats from Club Wembley. This is on top of also volunteering every summer for different maintenance around the ground.
As well as facilities, Ed played a key role in securing Kappa as a commercial partner and designing our bespoke playing kits for four seasons.
Some other big milestones for Ed include, managing the new floodlight project and crowdfunder, bidding for, winning then project managing the install of the new pitch and irrigation and improving disabled facilities around the Dripping Pan.
He was also crucial in turning the Pan into a four-sided venue at ground level for the first time.
Most recently, he also secured the club a grant for construction of a new toilet block of which you will see work is currently well underway.
This is all whilst also representing the club home and away for near 200 games in his six years on the board.
Upon his time on the board coming to an end, Ed commented: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Board at Lewes and got to work with some great people and projects.
“It’s time for a break now and I look forward to a good drink before matches and supporting the teams still. Finally a chance to watch the football instead of worrying about the steps/sprinklers/floodlight bulbs/playing surface!
“I thank my colleagues for their hard work and support in the past 6 years, and wish my successors and the club much success.
“I feel content that I have worked hard, achieved a lot, and left a legacy for everyone to enjoy.”
