Men's football news
Striker Billy Medlock has returned to the club and joins the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Bishop’s Stortford.
Billy was the club’s top scorer in our promotion-winning season of 2017-18, scoring 18 goals in 38 appearances. He’s spent the past year out of the game for personal reasons, but has been welcomed back into the fold by new management duo Ross Standen and Tony Coade.
“We’ve been having conversations with Billy over the past week or so,” said co-manager Tony Coade. “He’s shown desire to come back to Lewes and prove a point.”
“He hasn’t played for a while, but in short time we hope to get him back to fitness and scoring goals
“I know he was a big favourite with the fans when he was with us last time, and I’m sure everyone wants to see him back scoring goals for Lewes.”
Billy made an explosive start when he joined in the autumn of 2017, scoring ten goals in four games. He’s scored goals wherever he’s been, including Eastbourne Borough, Hastings and Dorking Wanderers.
The 27-year-old is a local player, although he’ll have to make the long trip to Essex with the rest of the squad tomorrow as we head off to Bishop’s Stortford.
If you want to book a late place on the bus, contact Club Secretary, Barry Collins, at barry@lewesfc.com. It’s £15 for the return journey, leaving the Dripping Pan at 10am.
