Youth team beaten at Eastbourne

The Under 18s lost 2-1 this evening at Eastbourne Town. Max Howell, who has also been featuring for the first team in recent weeks, scored the Lewes goal but it wasn't enough to prevent the defeat. League leaders Burgess Hill lost at Worthing so the Rooks remain in second place, three points behind the Hillians. Lewes are next at home on Monday night when they face Hastings United.

General Manager Departing

The club's General Manager, Steve Duly, will be leaving after Saturday's game against East Thurrock. He has been travelling in from Farnborough every day and this trip has been proving expensive and increasingly untenable as he has a young family to support. Steve was recently offered a position at Farnborough FC, his home town club, as their new Chief Executive. So, although we are sad to see him go, the Club accepted Steve's resignation.

Young Rooks draw with Rebels

Lewes U18s drew 1-1 this evening at Worthing in the League. Layton Schaaf put the Rooks ahead on 8 minutes and the visitors played some neat football until half time, with Worthing the stronger after the break. The equalising goal in the final third of the match was a fair conclusion to a game that Lewes were clinging onto at the end.

Lewes FC owners invited to spread a little sunshine

Local solar and heating experts Paynes will soon complete the installation of 180 solar panels on the roof of the Gardeners Arms Stand at the Dripping Pan. And all UK-based shareholders of Lewes Community Football Club are being given a chance to ‘buy’ a panel for the club.
