With the tenth game of the season approaching on Saturday against Harlow Town, the club's average gate currently stands at a fantastic 783, an increase of 81% on last season's average.

This is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the effort being put in behind the scenes at the Dripping Pan, as well as a great response from regular supporters and the people of Lewes and surrounding areas.

Our attendance last weekend for our 125th birthday celebrations was the seventh highest in all of non-league, beating six Premier clubs including Eastbourne and second only to the Dartford v Bromley Kent derby in Blue Square Bet North.

There's still a lot of work that needs to happen to iron out some of the issues that have yet to be resolved, but the new board is examining a number of ways that this can be tackled and there will be more positive changes as the season progresses.

The Beer Festival held last Friday was another great success and raised around £1500 for the club. If you didn't get a celebratory beer glass, these are available from the Rook Inn for £3, although they can't be sold until after a league match due to Conference regulations.

Some supporters may have noticed the BBC cameras at the Pan on Saturday filming a piece for Football Focus to be screened on October 2nd, and the club continues to earn more welcome publicity such as this article from the BBC website, and blogs twohundredpercent and theballisround all of which are well worth a read.
