On the pitch, Lewes FC may still be finding their feet, trying to carve out results in the face of an unprecedented early season injury crisis.

But their fans are really getting behind the new era of Community Ownership and are showing their support through the turnstiles.

So much so that, in the first month of the season, Lewes has already experienced a 46% leap in attendances, compared to last season.

And this puts the Lewes fans top of the Blue Square Bet South league for increased attendances.

Despite overall attendances at games throughout the Blue Square Bet South being down 5% compared to last season, Lewes are experiencing a welcome uplift.

Alex Leith, Communications Officer for Lewes Community Football Club commented: “All the months of planning and negotiating the club’s move to community-ownership feel even more worthwhile now."

"And our message to everyone is, please keep coming and bring a mate too. There’s nothing like a Saturday afternoon at the Dripping Pan.”

Lewes’ next home game is against Hampton & Richmond this Saturday 4th September.

It’s ‘Non-League Day’, so East Sussex-based Premiership fans, without a game due to England’s Euro qualifier, are invited to sample the magic of watching the Rooks at the Pan – Adults £10 and Kids Go Free (under 16s).
