It could only happen in Lewes - the Rook Hunt!
02/9/10
Lewes FC is proud to announce that it has teamed up with South St Bonfire Society to hold the World’s first family Rook Hunt on Sunday 5th September between 2 and 5pm.
The cunningly disguised Rooks will be hiding in the windows of around 50 shops and businesses in the centre of Lewes between the bottleneck and Cliffe Corner, awaiting our intrepid hunters.
It’s a great way to support your local club and community and an even better way to spend the afternoon.
There will be competitions to be won, teas to be drunk, cakes to be eaten and quizzes to be quizzed.
Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed Rook (as voted for by you), for the most effective Rook Hunters (those who find the most Rooks on their maps) and for the Rook quiz winner….
Tickets and Maps cost £1 each (£5 for a family ticket) and are available on the day from Baltica in the bottleneck and the Buttercup café in Malling St.They will also be available in advance from the Vintage Shirt Company on Mount Place, as well as the Farmer’s Market and at the Lewes FC match against Hampton on Saturday.
All the profits are going to Lewes FC and South St Bonfire, so get hunting!
Lewes FC hopes this will just be one of many such fundraisers coming up, so if you have any ideas, no matter how feather-brained – let us know. Email community@lewesfc.com
