Beer Festival at the Dripping Pan tomorrow

16/9/10

File (Embeded) - Beer kegs beer festival

Work has already begun for the second Lewes FC beer festival tomorrow (Friday).

The club has taken delivery of the first kegs of beer, from the likes of local breweries such as Dark Star Brewery and Beachy Head as well as those a little further away such as Castle Rock and Crouch Vale.

The star of the show however will undoubtedly be the new Lewes FC Ale from Harveys, marking the club's 125th anniversary which, at 4.7% volume, is cause for celebration itself.

Beers represented include the following:

Harveys - South Down Harvest 5%. "A taste of the South Downs."

Dark Star - Dark Star Triple 8.5%. Fermented three times with the addition of candy sugar.

Dark Star - Hylder Blonde 4.2%. With added elderflowers.

Beachy Head - Legless Rambler 5%. Microbrewery Beer of the Year 2008.

Crouch Vale - Brewers Gold 4%. Champion Beer of Britain 2005, 2006.

Crouch Vale - Amarillo 5%. Premium golden ale with a lasting spicy flavour.

Castle Rock - Harvest Pale Ale 3.8%. Champion Beer of Britain 2010.

Harviestoun - Bitter & Twisted 3.8%. World's Best Ale, World Beer Awards 2007.

Skinners - Betty Stogs 4%. Best Bitter GBBF 2008.

Tickets priced £5 are available in advance from the Gardeners Arms and Lewes Tourist Information Centre near the War Memorial, or entry is £6 on the door.

All ales are £2.50 per pint which can be served in the free souvenir pint glass which is included in the price of the ticket.

Gourmet food will be available and the event starts from 5pm.
