Prepare the Pan to Paint the Pan

Lewes FC is calling on supporters once again this close season to help give the Dripping Pan its annual makeover.

Assistant Manager Jason Hopkinson and coach Simon Gough were joined by members of the Management Committee last week to see what needs to be done in order to get the ground prepared for the new season.

As well as the usual tidying and painting jobs around the ground, Rooks fan Danny Last has been the driving force behind moves to improve the Rook Inn by turning it into a continental-style Supporters Bar and has gathered scarves and memorabilia from clubs throughout Europe to display on the walls - but it needs a spruce-up first!

With the additional work needed in the Rook Inn, it was felt that this year we would need to spread the work over two consecutive Sundays - one to "prepare" and one to "paint."

These will be held on Sunday July 4th and Sunday July 11th respectively, from 10am - 12.30pm. The more people who come along, the quicker the tasks will be completed and liquid refreshments will be supplied during the morning.

Please have a look at the list of jobs that need doing and come equipped accordingly if possible ie for cleaning on the 4th and for painting on the 11th. However, even if you don't have anything to bring with you, there will be tools and equipment that you can borrow so please come down and help out anyway.

There is an urgent need for the services of a plumber and a carpenter so please get in touch with the club via james.boyes@lewesfc.com and your details will be passed on if you can help out.

All help over the two days will be very welcome!
