League Champions Lewes Under 18's have signalled their intention to build on another successful season with the appointment of a Youth Development Officer.

Chris Rivers, who is the father of U18 player Tim Rivers, has taken on the role, having formerly been assistant manager and coach at Horley Town. Rivers will work closely with Rooks U18 coach Tobi Hutchinson and assistant Alan Dove.

Rivers' recruitment will allow Steve Ibbitson and Jason Hopkinson to spend more time on first team affairs, although they will still continue to actively promote youth team players into the senior side when appropriate.

Meanwhile, youth secretary Garry Mills has stepped down after two seasons in charge, and the club wishes to thank him for his hard work and dedication during that time.

The youth team season starts on Monday 7th June from 6pm with the first training session, with a friendly against Gillingham arranged for Saturday July 24th, kick off 11am.
