Lewes Ladies aim to remain County Champions
15/3/10
Lewes Ladies take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the final of the Sussex Women's Challenge Cup final at Lancing FC on Thursday.
The game is a repeat of last year's final which the Rooks won on penalties, ending the Albion's stranglehold over the trophy which they had retained since 2000.
The Rooks are currently third in the Women's Combination South East League and had a good build up to Thursday's final with a 5-0 thrashing of Ipswich Town.
Lewes manager Jacquie Agnew is determined to see her side put in a winning performance, although she is wary of the opposition.
"It will be a very difficult game this time around and different from last year," she said.
"Brighton's new manager Michael Bridges has completely turned the team around and has brought in some very useful players."
"However if we can play to our strengths we might cause an upset."
Kick off at Lancing FC is 7.30pm and Lewes fans are encouraged to go along and support the Ladies.
