Lewes are still looking for their first win of the road this season despite taking the lead against Staines.

Jean-Michel Sigere scored his first goal for the Rooks since his return with a spectacular diving header in the 28th minute direct from Dan Royce's free kick which was awarded following one of many untidy challenges on David Wheeler this afternoon.

Lewes held their own during a first half in which Staines offered little penetration.

This all changed in a crazy three minute spell after the break, which saw Staines equalise through Yabo Mambo and then take the lead when Howard Newton squeezed the ball past Rikki Banks.

Despite the scoreline, Lewes continued to press and the final 15 minutes was all one way traffic which saw sub Arron Hopkinson miss a great chance for an equaliser when he shot wide with just keeper Louis Wells to beat.

Even the introduction of Scott Ramsey for his debut appearance couldn't produce the equaliser against a side who for long periods, struggled to show the sort of performance they would need to ensure a play-off finish.
