File (Embeded) - Maidenhead v Lewes Dec 09 Joe goal

Lewes came close to securing their first win on the road this season but let ten man Maidenhead snatch a late draw.

A drab game burst into life in the 59th minute when Kane Louis ran onto David Wheeler's neat through ball down the left wing.

Louis' crisp shot was parried by keeper Tuncliff but the ball fell nicely to Joe Keehan running in on goal and he was able to score under a challenge from Jack Bradshaw.

The Magpies pushed on in search of an equaliser but there was more pushing in the 74th minute when subs David Clarke and Scott Chamberlain got involved after their challenge and the incident finally ended with a red card for Clarke and a yellow for Chamberlain, as well as United striker Kieran Knight.

Despite the man advantage, it was the Rooks who seemed to feel the pressure more. Eleven minutes from time, Anthony Barness was penalised on the edge of the area and Maidenhead scored the equaliser, courtesy of Alex Wall's deflected free kick.

Wall and United captain Mark Nisbet both had chances late on but Lewes held on for a share of the points.
