he shot, he scored, he must be down the dripping pan

Albion legend Peter Ward will be in the Rook Inn tomorrow (Wednesday night) signing copies of his new biography "He Shot, he Scored."
Ward played for Brighton between 1975 and 1980, scoring 36 goals in the 1976-77 season and was an instrumental player in the Seagulls' promotion to the old Division One in 1978.
In 1980, Ward moved to European Champions Nottingham Forest in a three-way deal that saw Garry Birtles leave the City Ground for Manchester United, and Andy Ritchie depart Old Trafford for the Goldstone.
In the mid 1980's, Ward left England to play professional soccer in the United States where he now lives.
He still holds legendary status with Albion fans who famously chanted after every goal: "He shot, he scored, it must be Peter Ward," which is in part the title of his biography.
If you're stuck for a Christmas present idea for the Albion supporter in your family, then worry no more. Ward will be at the Dripping Pan from 7-9pm, entry is free, his book costs £16.99, and the bar will be open.
