Lewes lad Steven Brinkhurst has joined the Rooks on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The first year pro has been signed for a month and will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's visit to Maidenhead United.

Rooks boss Steve Ibbitson said "He's a very quick and impressive player, who plays wide midfield or as a central striker. We're very pleased to have captured him."

Another player involved tomorrow is Lewes keeper Rikki Banks. The popular stopper has been on trial with Wycombe Wanderers this week having been in superb form for the Rooks this season.

Ibbitson, who named Banks as his Player of the Season at the end of the last campaign told the Argus: “Wycombe have watched Rikki four or five times. He is a good goalkeeper and they sent a very experienced scout to watch him.

“He did very well on Monday. It is by no means certain that they will sign him but they are very impressed with him.”

Wycombe boss Gary Waddock has been impressed with Banks during his trial, but intends to take a further look at the 21 year old during Lewes matches over the coming weeks.
