Lewes snatch win against Beavers
07/11/09
Lewes notched back-to-back home wins this afternoon with a 1-0 victory over Hampton & Richmond.
A fantastic goalkeeping display from Rikki Banks was the key to the Rooks winning only their second game of the season.
Banks didn't put a foot wrong all afternoon in a performance that was far removed from some of his games last season and the match sponsors earned a big cheer when he was rightly named Man of the Match.
It was a far better display from Lewes than last weekend's trip to Welling, and the team looked much more eager and united, with the central midfield pairing of Joe Keehan and Jack Walder making a significant contribution.
Another player with a lot to look back on is TIm RIvers who seems to be growing into the forward role he has filled for the past few weeks, and he was duly rewarded with his first senior goal this afternoon.
Lewes visit Eastleigh next Saturday in the league before a repeat visit the following week in the FA Trophy.
