File (Embeded) - Lewes v Bishops Stortford Crabb winner

Lewes won their first game of the season with a fine 2-1 victory at home to Bishops Stortford.

The Rooks went behind in the 31st minute when Glen Southam headed in Charlie Sheringham's cross, but Lewes performed magnificently to claim an equaliser, albeit in controversial circumstances.

Andy Pearson headed a free kick against the post but the linesman signalled for a goal, despite the protests by the Stortford players.

The visitors played nothing like a side in fourth place and Lewes pushed on in the second half in search of the winner.

This duly arrived in the 62nd minute when the impressive Jack Walder won a tackle which allowed him to play in Sam Crabb, who cooly slotted home to put Lewes in front.

A magnificent defensive display kept Stortford chances to a minimum and the home supporters noisily celebrated the Rooks' first win in thirteen games at the final whistle.
