Lewes FC survives Winding Up Order
02/9/09
Lewes Football Club has survived a winding-up order in the High Court today.
During the hearing, the club was granted a three-month adjournment to pay back a further £30,000 of the £110,000 debt to the HMRC following an initial payment of £30,000 last week.
The winding up order will stay in place over the next three months whilst negotiations continue with the HMRC about paying off the remaining £50,000.
Lewes Football Club is extremely grateful to our legal advisors and those supporters who have made a donation in the last few weeks and would like to thank everyone who has helped the club over the last few, difficult months.
Work still remains to pay off the debt to the HMRC and other creditors, but LFC is calling on fans and the people of Lewes to show continued support for the club over the next few months to ensure that this can happen, starting with the Blue Square South clash against second-placed Basingstoke Town on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
