Lewes visit Carshalton Athletic on Saturday for the second of their pre-season friendlies.

The hosts play in the Ryman Premier and will prove tough opponents for the Rooks with the new season just over a fortnight away.

Steve Ibbitson's new-look squad put in a good performance against BS Premier neighbours Eastbourne Borough last Tuesday, who had already played three pre-season friendlies before their encounter at the Dripping Pan, and the home supporters were encouraged by the performance of the Rooks.

Saturday provides Ibbitson with a welcome opportunity to test his players before the visits to the Dripping Pan of Dulwich Hamlet next Wednesday and Worthing on Saturday 1st August.

Carshalton play at the War Memorial Sports Ground, Colston Avenue, Carshalton, SM5 2PW, a journey of about an hour from Lewes by car, or 90 minutes by train, changing at East Croydon.

The weather forecast looks good, so why not leave your partner shopping in Croydon and pop over to Carshalton to catch the Mighty Rooks in action?

*Lewes Ladies begin their pre-season build-up on Sunday at Ringmer FC against Havant & Waterloville. Kick off is at 2.30pm and everyone is welcome.
